PRADIF, a Support for Persons with Disability –PWDs– and their Families



Pradif (A Program to Support Persons with Disability –PWDs– and their Families) was created in 2015 by seven students of the Special Education Degree –LEE– from their degree work and the accompaniment and advice of professor Libia Velez Latorre.

Based on an approach emphasizing strengths and qualities but not shortcomings of the people with divers-abilities, the Degree in Special Education has managed to change the perspective for caring these traditionally and socially excluded and marginalized.

Amaranntha Wass has been recognized in the campus of the UPN as a transgender woman who doesn´t need the sense of sight to observe deeply her context, so she has been well-placed as an activist and pedagogue.

In 1917, the first National Educational Congress decided to build the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional –IPN– in Bogota, which began on March 9, 1927, under the leadership by German educator Francisca Radke.
