It is believed that mathematical knowledge is not transferable but is constructed through social interaction and that the professional knowledge of mathematics educator is formed from the theoretical and practical knowledge related to mathematics. It is primarily favored the interpretive aspect of discipline and constant reflection on how to access these theories, about the nature of mathematics and school mathematics, particularly in regard to the historical process of evolution. It is intended that future teachers acquire a solid mathematical knowledge. The environment discipline is organized in the following areas: Algebra, Geometry, Calculus and Statistics, and Probability.
Object of study
The study of mathematics education is conceived through the incursion on three disciplines: mathematics, mathematics education and computer technology for education, in order to provide a whole initial training of the Mathematics teacher of Middle Education.
